Pudding and Bananas! =)

Look! A glass dessert! Isn't it pretty? Well not really but yea still pass right? Haha anyway...it was quite yummy for my first attempt at this. Creamy custard-y pudding (vanilla of course) with fresh bananas embedded in it with layers and layers of cookie crumbs. Though the pudding was a little too sweet for my taste, will alter the recipe the next time, so I got salty cheese crackers to balance back the sweetness from the pudding and the yummy bananas! and and topped with toasted almond flakes..WEEE!

crunch crunch

It had a really good texture to it. Crunchy biscuits together with smooth creamy pudding and little chunks of bananas in between plus toasty almond flakes here and there really gives your taste buds a bit of an excitement.Of course there's always room for improvement, maybe more nutty flavours next time =). My cousins came today and they loved it! *smiles* but not all my white mice have tried it yet..some are still in the fridge awaiting =) faster la....For now I shall share with the world some pictures pictures =).

Have a sweet sweet night! =)

Bonjour! ^< French Bread

Hmmmmmmmm! The smell of French bread coming out of the oven. It's something you hope and pray to smell when you wake up first thing in the morning. The smell itself (in a good way) would just wake you up, forget about the alarm clock. It's like waking up into a happy happy day =). I made these last weekend, they bring back memories of me working in the bakery...fun fun time except for some..haha.

After a few sweet deserts, I was thinking maybe try something different.Making bread at home is not the quite the same as at the bakery. Well for one, the recipe the different and I don't have the magical machine that poofs bread in minutes =( but I still managed even the dough feeling is a little sticky *looks at hand*. After many hours * exaggerates* , beep, out of the ovens it comes =) yay! Fresh Baguette! The crack of the crust, the hollow knock when u tap the bread the aromatic smell of freshness..ooooo! =) plus I put some rosemary, I think, gives it an extra something.

Baguette!

Plain kinda boring? I thought so. So I made sandwiches and garlic bread! =) Some lucky people had some *hehe you know who you are* In the sandwich I had roast duck, cheese and some veggie with some sauce to make it not so dry. Imagine, crispy bread with delicious savory roast duck and melted cheese with fresh veg. The texture itself is yum already! hehe. And the other, the smell of buttery garlic bread with some herb on top! The fragrant garlic smell sticks to you and it's quite addictive. You all should go get some too! =) More pictures for your viewing pleasure.

Orange and Pastry Cream ?

Classic Swiss Roll

Delicious spongy, soft cake rolled over smooth cream wrapped over whatever you like actually. This is one of my very few first attempts to make cake rolls. The first few time were epic failures, believe me. But finally something that kinda looks right hehe =). Doesn't this just brings back nostalgia, my mommy use to buy this from some small bakery or even pasar malam and we would just peel off the cake, unravel the roll, eating each soft layer. Simple yet so yummy!

This time I chose a basic vanilla sponge together with orange! And the extra pastry cream that I had. Very refreshing and tangy, you can feel the pulp bursting in your mouth =). But sponge was quite good as well but the pastry cream was a little disappointing, not as smooth when I just made it...Oh well use something else next time then.

On the way to deliciousness!

Dusted with a little coco powder, it wasn't too sweet which is awesome! So don't worry too much about the calories hehe =). Have a great week!

Mango and Grape Tarts!

Mini tarts! Ooooo how I adore their little little bite sizes. Just looking at them makes you smile, well it worked for me *smile =)*. Anyway I did this during one of my weekends just for fun. Buttery; flaky tart crust at the bottom filled with smooth white chocolate mousse and some with pastry cream and last topped with mango and grapes!.hmmmm~ it's like a mini firework just pop in your mouth when you taste a bite.

Making this took some time and a little adventure involved, searching high and low in a shop full of stuff for tart shell and discovering wine grapes! I know! How awesome isn't it alcohol taste but it's from a fruit. My parents didn't like them that much (they say it kinda taste spoiled, panic attack) but nah I know someone who loves them! Get you more next time ok? =) After all that, TADAA!

mango & grape tart

In case you were wondering the round round ball is actually mango. The grapes were totally awesome and the look soooooo pretty! That's why I got them haha. I made quite a few and some lucky people got to try them. Awww it's ok you'll get a chance too someday! =)

Don't you wish you had one? hehe =)
